The Simple Badge

The Simple Badge is the easy way to integrate your Simple Links in your existing website. The usual Simple Badge is composed of a preview icon, the underlying Simple Link's token and target domain. More customization options are listed further down under Customization.

Embed your Simple Badge

Embedding a Simple Badge in your website is as easy as ABC. You only need four lines of code. (Maybe even less if you don't care for code formatting). Those four lines of code in question are the following lines of code. Remember to replace the placeholder YOUR-SIMPLE-TOKEN with the Simple Token of your Simple Link.
1.
2.
3.
4.
<simplelink-badge simpletoken="YOUR-SIMPLE-TOKEN">
</simplelink-badge>
<script src="https://api.simplel.ink/badge/badge.php">
</script>
Copy to code to clipboard

You can embed multiple Simple Badges into your website. Even with multiple Simple Badges you only need to include the script once.

Our Simple Badge algorithms automaticly scan your Simple Link for icons to use for the Simple Badge. If you don't want our algorithms guessing for the right icon you can tell the algorithm which icon to use. To do so you have to add the following meta element to the head element of your website. Again: Remember to replace the placeholder URL-TO-ICON with the actual url to your preferred Simple Badge Icon. The size of the icon specified in this meta element needs to be (50x50) pixels. If the algorithm classifies the icon as unfit it will fall back to the other icons found on the website.

Customization

The Simple Badge offers some options to customize your Simple Badge. Options like overwritting the Simple Token with a custom title or showing a more extended preview of your Simple Link. Other options like custom badge colors are set automaticly and are non editable.

Setting a custom title. If you don't want to show your Simple Link's token on the badge you can set a custom title that replaces said token. Custom titles for Simple Badges are handled via the customTitle attribute. Example code for a Simple Badge with a custom title is listed below:
1.
2.
<simplelink-badge customTitle="YOUR-TITLE" simpletoken="SIMPLE-TOKEN">
</simplelink-badge>

Showing an extended Preview. If your Simple Link points to a media file, like an image or audio file, the extended preview replaces the default preview icon. Aside from raw media files, extended previews can be shown for YouTube and Twitch Videos. If you enable the extended preview for your Simple Badge, but your Simple Link does not point to something that can be used for an extended preview, the extended preview will not be shown. Instead the normal Simple Badge will be shown. Extended previews can be enabled by adding the badgeExtras attribute with the value full. Example code for a Simple Badge with an extended preview is listed below:
1.
2.
<simplelink-badge badgeExtras="full" simpletoken="SIMPLE-TOKEN">
</simplelink-badge>

Custom width. Need more than 280 pixels of Simple Badge for your Simple Link? No problem! You can set a custom width for your Simple Badge with the width attribute. Valid values range from 280 to 420. If you use an invalid value Simple Link will discard the custom width request and display the Simple Badge with its normal width of 280 pixels.
